In short:
- create db and files backup,
- check dependencies and DB user privileges required by new version,
- replace files (replace the whole lms directory),
- remove templates_c contents,
- go to LMS-UI (now DB upgrade is executed) and observe if there are any
errors displayed, if aren't, you can log in.

Yes, it's planned for January. However, there is a lot of new features
(added in last few months) we like to polish. There's also an annoying
regression in performance because of Smarty upgrade.

I just tried to connect to this list in order to know better lms
before I deploy. But I am yet to get the accepance despite
confirmation two days back!!!!

What I would like to know is the English version of your site has much
older version than the polish site. Which one is the one to deploy and
how? Inputs are appreciated.

How do one deploy lms? As a router machine facing the net with
multiple NICs? Could anyone suggest their experience of deployment?

You guessed it right. The easiest way to deploy is as a router. Of course,
you need to use multiple interfaces. I don't have much experience using LMS
as router though. I was using it as provisioning system. I had interfaced
the LMS and FreeRadius with a custom plugin.

Hello,

   I think this is a bug in LMSD's "tc" module: if a customer has two (or
more) subscriptions, LMSD adds both bandwidths as the available bandwidth
for each of that customer's PCs. For example: a customer has 2 PCs; PC1
with 2Mbps subscription and PC2 with 3Mbps subscription. If I set
"limit_per_host=0" and "one_class_per_host=1", each PC will get 5Mbps even
if PC1 should get 2Mbps and PC2 show get 3Mbps (it's the same for rate and
ceil) so together they have 5+5 Mbps instead of 2+3 Mbps. I'm using the
latest CVS version.

PS: the bandwidth from all the subscriptions of the customer seems to be
added no matter how "limit_per_host" and "one_class_per_host" are set

How can one customize firewall to work with say at least three
interfaced router and firewall? I meant one or two NIC for WAN (with
failover to the internet with multiple ISPs), one NIC for LAN and one
for DMZ.

IMO it's better to use CVS version. Maybe it's worthy to deploy 
snapshot generation
mechanism. 1.11.x versions are truly cvs snapshots and practically 
there are no
quality differencies beetween them and cvs versions.

For OpenVPN you can use authentication script attached to this post.
Be warned - it assumes postgresql db engine is present.
In openvpn.conf you append something like below:
auth-user-pass-verify /etc/openvpn/check-user.php via-env
script-security 3
As you look into the script source, you can see that authentication is 
based on
checking LMS user credentials and of course they've (users) to have 
valid access permissions.
It's required for user to have 'full access' or 'network device 
management' permissions
and 'read only access' unset.

No, there aren't.
You can also create authentication script in perl basing on perl 
scripts
included in lms directory.

check-user.php can go to any directory.
Perl scripts are located in bin subdirectory.

check-user.php is not connected in any way to perl scripts.
I meant that you can prepare you own script for openvpn authentication
basing on perl scripts in bin subdirectory and check-user.php script.
It is simply proof-of-concept script.

Yes that's right, because uptimef() is defined in lib/locale/??/ui.php.
